Body Image Issues
Cherrie speaks frequently on the subject of body image using humor, props, and faith as well as her experience as a therapist. She is a passionate speaker and loves to use humor. Cherrie has spoken at churches, on radio shows, and at a hospital about her own struggles with who she calls the Body Image Bandit. She is writing a book and is represented by a well-respected agent.
Tooshie: Defeating the Body Image Bandit is Cherrie Herrin-Michehl’s story. She was devastated when a bicycle crash resulted in a concussion and stitches on her face. She learned to re-think her battle with the Body Image Bandit – the Father of Lies. Although an athlete since childhood, Cherrie developed two chronic auto-immune diseases, ankylosing spondylitis and lupus. She went from swimming over a mile a day to being unable to walk for a month. As she rolled off the couch and crawled down the hall to use the restroom, she grasped at an intimate level that our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14).
